After suffering with the stock Delphi EFI on my bike for 4 years and 30K miles, with very hard starting, lean heat conditions, and popping through the exhaust, I started a review of all the available options. My bike is a stock 2007 Ultra Classic Electra Glide used for touring. I didn't need systems that needed to have a unique map made on a dyno. I just wanted a better running stock motorcycle. I wanted easier starting, cooler running, no popping out the exhaust on decel, and if possible better gas mileage. (I had averaged 40 MPG since new).
I first tried Night-rider's EiXD's. They were suppose to richen the idle and closed loop to 13.6 AFR. Whether they did or not is debatable. I noticed the hard starting was even harder with them in line and after a few weeks I removed them. Starting was a bit easier, but still very hard when hot. (Felt like the engine was trying to start at 40 degrees before top dead center).
After installing this Alpha-N system my hard start problems are GONE! What a difference! Rideability is vastly improved. The idle at a stop light no longer hammers my fillings out. Power delivery is smooth. Cruising at 2000/2500 RPM is vastly improved, (No lean surge). I can now use my 6th gear all the way down to 1800 RPM before having to down shift to 5th. Best of all, after 4 full tanks, I'm getting 45 MPG!
If your tired of the Delphi system I highly recommend this one.
